APPLE WILL UNVEIL iPHONE 6 ON TUESDAY,SEPTEMBER 9

Apple will unveil the new iPhone 6 on Tuesday, Sept. 9, according to a document obtained by the French website Nowhere Else. We cannot confirm whether the leak is true, but Nowhere Else has a track record of publishing Apple launch materials ahead of Apple's secretive schedule, according to Gizmodo.
The news is not unexpected, of course.

It has been known for months that Apple is planning a launch event for the iPhone 6 in September, the time of year it normally makes big product launch announcements. It was previously reported by Re/code that Apple would hold a launch event on Sept. 9, but if accurate, this would be the first piece of "official" Apple material to confirm the date.
The date comes from a printed package box or insert, the type of which comes with new product promotions. A photo of the box was passed to Nowhere Else by the site's "most trusted Chinese source," the blog says.
This was the same source that leaked, accurately, the fingerprint Touch ID security device prior to the launch of the iPhone 5S, also from printed promo box material.
Gizmodo also warns that the new photo might be a fake.

iPHONE 6 PRICE REVEALED

Most of the views were that the iPhone 6 would generally appear to be an overhaul of the existing iPhone 5s and the cost push up would be majorly due to the bunch of new features added. The price of the iPhone 6 came up back in April when Jeffries analyst Peter Misek revealed that Apple was negotiating with carriers to increase the price of the iPhone 6 by $100 compared to the 5s, which starts at $199 with contract. However, according to TechRadar, the iPhone 6 could be available for as high as $800 without a contract which is double than the original price of the first iPhone in 2007 when it wasn't subsidized by two-year contracts.

The constant increment in price is not favourable to those in the African countries at all.Especially those in Ghana, since their cedi keeps depreciating in value as against the dollar. Maybe Apple should consider the African countries when pricing their products. What do you think??

IPHONE 6: FEATURES MOST SHOPPERS WANT IN IPHONE 6

The 3 Week Diet

The iPhone 6 could be hitting shelves in as soon as a month, and all Apple diehards have their own personal wishlist for the device. Some want a bigger screen, while others desire a sharper camera, but above all else, it seems fans are absolutely clamoring for the near-indestructible sapphire display that the iPhone 6 is rumored to sport.

According to uSell.com’s survey of 1,000 U.S. smartphone owners, 45.5 percent of users want a sapphire screen that can take a beating. An infrared camera was the next most-wanted feature, at 19.2 percent, followed by new health and fitness features, at 10.7 percent. Rounding out the top five features were 3D image functionality (9.5 percent) and smart-home compatibility (7.7 percent).

DON'T BELIEVE ANDROID PHONES ARE FOR THE RICH??? READ THIS

The 3 Week Diet

We have recently been examining the case that Android phones are bought by poor people while Apple's iPhones serve the 1% (or at least the richest 11.7% of the market).
"Poor" is a relative term here, and some people don't like hearing it. See the comments under this story, for instance.
We're talking about "the poor" in a macroeconomic sense. Per capita income in the U.S. is about $47,000 annually. In India it's just $3,560, according to the World Bank. One of these groups is "poor" by comparison.

Yesterday, market research group IDC published some data that makes this case far more cogently than we've been able to so far.
Nearly 60% of Android phones sold cost less than $200. Android's core market barely bothers with the $200 to $400 midrange, and only about 20% of sales are in the premium $400-plus area:

Apple, with its iOS mobile operating system, by contrast, sells the vast majority of its devices — more than 80% ,in the $400-plus range. The company barely bothers with the mid-range, and it sells zero phones under $200.
Android phone makers could price their wares in the $200 to $400 range — but they don't. They sell most phones for $200 or less. That strongly suggests that Android makers know there is a huge chunk of the market that is price-sensitive on phones.

Price isn't an exact proxy for consumer income of course. Some people who buy a $200 phone can afford a $400 but choose the cheaper one anyway.
Nevertheless, it is also true that anyone who buys an Apple phone at $400-plus can also afford a $200 handset but chooses not to. Meanwhile, anyone who can afford only a $200 phone cannot, by definition, buy an Apple phone.
Those people are "Android people," whether they like it or not.

Don't assume this is just a few poor people skewing Android's numbers, by the way. Eighty-five percent of all smartphones sold are Android phones. Android is good proxy for all of humanity, in other words, and humanity mostly wants a smartphone for under $200.
