Gucci Mane's album The State vs. Radric Davis just took on a very literal meaning (again). According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution,
the Brick Squad rapper (real name Radric Davis) was sentenced in
Atlanta today to 468 days(39 MONTHS) in federal prison after pleading guilty to a
firearms charge in May.
In September 2013, the Spring Breakers guest star
was arrested for threatening police in the Georgia capital, and when
the officers performed a search, they found a Taurus 45-caliber handgun
on his person with eight rounds of ammunition on hand. Because Gucci "Lemonade" Mane isn't really a stranger to these types of scenarios he spent one full year spent in prison in 2005 for a later-dropped murder charge prosecutors recommended a three-year sentence for the offense.
Davis
has already served 11 months, but he's still got more than two years
left in jail. On the bright side this means Guwop probably won't have to
sit through a possible Coldplay Super Bowl Halftime Show next year. And hey, his team is still releasing albums for him while he's locked up, so he needn't worry about disappearing from the public eye.
