FIFA Confirms SEVEN Candidates For Presidential Race

FIFA confirmed seven candidates for next congress in February.The congress is expected to produce the successor to embattled Sepp Blatter.However,David Nakhid was excluded from the race.They gave no reason for excluding him.The candidates are – the General Secretary of Europe soccer governing body, UEFA,  Gianni Infantino,  Bahraini Royal Family member, Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa and Liberian Football Association head, Musa Bility.

FIFA Presidential Contender Furious At "Nasty Lies"

FIFA presidential contender Shaikh Salman Bin Ebrahim al Khalifa is mad at rumours and nasty lies which is damaging his campaign. Bahrain Human Rights Group have accused Shaikh Salman of involvement in arrest and torture of fooballers when he was head of Bahrain Football Association.
“These are false, nasty lies that have been repeated again and again in the past and the present,” the Asian Football Confederation president told the BBC in an interview.
“I cannot deny something that I haven’t done,” the 49-year-old added.
“Such accusations are not just damaging, it’s really hurting. Some people have agenda on their table.”
Shaikh Salman was head of the Bahrain FA in 2011 when scores of people were killed as security forces in the country put down mass Shia-led protests calling for reforms.
Rights groups say he helped identify players involved in the protests and did nothing to protect them from abuses.

“It’s not just damaging me, it’s damaging the people and the country,” Shaikh Salman added.

Ballon d'or holder Cristiano Ronaldo

The ballon d'or holder Christiano Ronaldo and the four times winner Lionel Messi are among the 23 players on FIFA list of contenders for this years award honouring the world's top player.
The list was compiled by Fifa Football Committee with the help of French Magazine France Football. It will be shortlisted to three contenders by December 1st and the winner will be announced on the January 12,2015 at the ceremony in Zurich.
